What a great town. Great people. And what a great show curated by Andrew Schoultz. I am proud to be part of it and happy to work with a guy like Andres. Super cool dude.

The opening was awesome. Great turn out. And then awesome bands played like The Fresh and Onlys, whos first album was put out by Brian Lee Hughes - the coolest bear in town. He and his girl friend Laura gave us the bestest San Fran weekend ever. On top of Andrews homey hosting it couldn’t have been better. Thank you all.

It was great meeting all the artists who also showed up for the opening - Vanessa Blaikie, Kevin Taylor, Kyle Ranson, Glenn Baldridge, Ben Venom, Harley Laffarah Eaves. I think those were the ones. Maybe more, so many people in such a short time.

Thanks for dinner, Glen Helfand. It was great having a private dinner far from home and meeting all your guests.

What a great weekend in a great town with great people.

IAN PEDIGO

Call it big-box-store haiku: the sculptor turns the stuff of Home Depot, Pier 1, and their Dumpsters into pared-down, poetic assemblages. Bamboo placemats are arranged on the wall in an octagonal “O,” a stylized emblem of emptiness. A scrap of carpet is paired with a birch branch and a fluorescent tube like industrial ikebana. The young artist plays clever games with the conventions of indoor and outdoor, turning the light coming through the gallery windows into a piece titled “Emptied Projections,” using commercially available diffusion material that casts shadowless light. Through Feb. 14. (Von Nichtssagend, 438 Union Ave. 718-383-7309.)
